The sunset so scarlet, that you start to worry about your retinas, the grape-sized stars, the sand as delicate as flour, the Martian landscape, the..., the..., the complete lack of proper words - this is what you get for travelling in the Sahara Desert.
The excruciating thrill of making it over the dune without winching for the first time is quickly overshadowed by the literal and figurative sinking feeling, as you discover that Sahara doesn't really tolerate driving mistakes.
There is so much more to tell about the adventures of this tour, but for now we can just say that this is the Sahara that should be seen at least once in a lifetime.

Tunisia is a true paradise for all sand-loving off-road travelers. It has an unparalleled abundance of sights to offer: Roman ruins listed with UNESCO, magnificent oases, cave settlements of Matmata and beaches of Djerba. Sun, sand, and tranquility - this is Tunisia’s desert – Grand Erg Oriental. Experience an endless golden sea of dunes sculpted by the wind.

Pure desert!
After ferry crossing from Genoa to La Goulette / Tunis, we spend one night at a campsite by the sea in Hammamet before we head to Sabria via the motorway. We spend the night in a small oasis, get to know our Tunisian guides and enjoy a traditional meal. Prior to diving into endless dunes of Tunisian Sahara, we spend one night in a tent camp on the edge of the desert. We test our vehicles in the nearby dunes to get a feel of driving in the sand.

Nature:
Our journey takes us to the famous sand roses near Djebil, over the Table Mountain Tembaine, which is an excellent vantage point of the endless expanse of the Sahara foothills. We set our camp in the dunes of Dakanis. Next few days we wander in the dunes, with only rough directions given to us by our guides. Further south, on our way to Lac Hwidhat-Erriched we will meet Algerian desert nomads, pet their camels and get to know their way of life – art of surviving in the endless sea of sand and rubble.
After another night by the campfire, under the myriad of stars, we head back to civilization. We pass Tembaine mount we are already familiar with, towards Bir Boubaker and Bir Abdallah.
On the 11th day of our tour, we spend one farewell evening together in an oasis camp in Sabria, before we head back to Hammamet
On our way there, we will make a brief stop in Douz, the gateway to the Sahara. We can have a cup of tea, or shop for souvenirs – a great opportunity to polish your bargaining skills.

Living Conditions:
We will be self-sufficient in the desert for eight days, so very precise travel preparation is mandatory for this tour. Therefore, extensive initial telephone contact with us is essential for this tour in order to discuss all requirements in advance. After booking, of course, you will receive the detailed checklists, which is contained in the travel documents and is intended to make travel preparations easier for you.

Driving conditions:
We wish to once again point out that the trip offered here is pure desert adventure. Most of the sightseeing is in the beginning of the tour, after that the emphasis is on the desert driving. Adventure dunes, sand driving, tranquility and mesmerizingly starry sky are the headliners of this tour.
